For budding artists and experts alike, our residential art courses are suitable for all styles and abilities
Residential Art Course

Course instruction is taken by Ros Roswell, a well established local artist who has lived and worked in the Stratherrick area, South Loch Ness, in the central Highlands of Scotland since the early 1980s. She is expert in painting loose atmospheric paintings, both traditional and contemporary, and has exhibited widely in galleries throughout Scotland and in London. Her characteristic trade-mark is that of the very atmospheric highland skies which appear in much of her work. As an experienced tutor, Ros is able to tailor courses to suit all abilities from absolute beginners to advanced, and will work in a variety of mediums as required.

Dates / Prices

The minimum course duration will be for 3 nights accommodation with 2 full days tuition, at £234 per person. This includes all tuition, B&B accommodation at Torguish House, basic materials & transport where required. Packed lunches and further materials are also available.

However, if you wish to explore the highlands a while longer, perhaps with a few days painting to unwind, we are more than happy to organise this for you. Prices are calculated at £38 per person per night bed & breakfast, and £60 per person per day tuition.

Courses are run ‘on demand’ all year round, with the exception of July and August, with a minimum of 4 persons per group. Please note however, that you don’t need to be group of 4+ to book! Individuals and smaller groups are encouraged to book their preferred dates, and we will endeavour to fill the remaining vacancies for you.

The Art Studio

The Scottish Highland Art Studio is a spacious but cosy wooden building, beside the house on Edinuanagan Croft. The croft is situated in beautiful countryside and the Studio has wonderful views across open countryside to the hills surrounding Loch Ruthven, which can just be glimpsed in the distance.

The Studio is light and airy with windows and skylights and has two long benches with between 4 and 8 individual work stations, and is well equipped for a variety of art work .

The outside space, patio and decking areas and ponds beside the house are often used during lessons and art courses.
